On March 26, 2010 Jamie Oil said goodbye to a longtime co-worker and friend. Pamela Pistocco announced her retirement at the beginning of the heating season in 2009. After 30 years in the heating oil industry, Pam decided to retire and move to a warmer climate in the heart of Arizona.
Pam began her career in the heating oil business, alongside many of her coworkers now at Jamie Oil, in Hopkinton, MA working for Terry Oil Company. She started off in the oil delivery department, and quickly moved her way up the ranks to office manager and service dispatcher. Pam’s hard work and dedication to her job earned the respect and appreciation of then owner Bill Terry who once described her as, “The best at her job in the state”.
After putting in 20 years of excellent service at Terry Oil, the company made the tough decision to sell to a larger conglomerate. Missing the small town feel of a local business, Pam decided to bring her expertise to a new, upcoming local company in the same community. Jamie Oil had just started out and was in desperate need of getting the service department organized, and Pam was just the person to get the job done. “She joined us in 2001 and totally reorganized our service dispatching, billing, and made our oil delivery department more efficient,” said Jamie Oil service manager, John Gallagher.
Always one step ahead, Pam spent the last six months training Catie Lesniak, our new service dispatcher, to take over her assignments at Jamie Oil Company. A going away party was held at the Trackside Grill in Ashland to honor Pam’s outstanding service to our customers and our company. We thank Pam for all her contributions as we wish her a wonderful retirement.
